Being a native of Santa Monica, I’ve spent most of my life west of the 405, from Brentwood down towards Venice Beach. It’s where I grew up, where I am raising my family, and where my days still unfold in a way that feels familiar and grounding.
The Westside has its own rhythm. It’s never been about chasing what’s new for me, but about returning to the places that feel good. The ones that hold memories, routines, and a sense of ease.
When it comes to food, I’m drawn to places that feel special without trying too hard.

Le Great Outdoors is one of those spots I save for a date night or when I want something that feels a little elevated but still relaxed. It’s chic, outdoors, and always delicious.
For something more homey and healthy, Jade Rabbit. is comforting and exactly what I’m craving when I want quick Chinese food.
At night, San Vicente Bungalows is my favorite place to unwind. I always order a dirty vodka martini with fries. During the day, it’s a totally different mood—Aperol spritz or rosé on the roof, oysters, ocean views, and the tops of palm trees moving in the breeze.

I also love Electric Blu for its seasonal Cali-French menu. It’s cozy, intimate, wine-only, and always feels like the right choice. And Casa Blanca never gets old—the margarita cart and homemade tortillas alone are reason enough to go.
I’m drawn to clothes that feel timeless and easy.
Christy Dawn is one of my favorites—I’m especially into their dresses and cardigans.
I still pop into Free People - Montana Avenue when I’m nearby.
And for shoes, Habit is always worth the drive. They have the best boots, clogs, and truly good walking shoes.

Sundays usually start at the farmers market. It’s a ritual I’ve kept for years. I also love long walks along Ocean Avenue around sunset, especially on Sundays when there are concerts in the park.
When I need nature, I head up Mandeville Canyon or Capri for a hike. And some of my favorite moments are the simplest ones. Picnics with RummiKub, no agenda, just time together.
There are a handful of places that feel like quiet gems to me:
The Santa Monica Stairs, and Matthews Yoga—all grounding, familiar, and deeply part of my routine.

We live in a special pocket of Brentwood called The Helenas. Small cul-de-sacs tucked just off the main streets, starting at San Vicente and Carmelina and stretching north to Sunset, west toward Anita. It’s quiet, walkable, and feels like a real community.

I love the people here! My favorite neighbor Alexandra, her family, her dog Fenway, and all the walks we take together. Our home is cozy and lived-in, and we’ve been there for almost 18 years now. I’m especially drawn to the older homes in the neighborhood—their character, details, and the feeling that they’ve lived many lives before ours.
