People often assume that my house looks exactly like Litt Concept House. While there are similarities, the truth is, what I envision for the store and my personal style are two very different worlds. When I’m sourcing for new pieces, I’m thinking about what will speak to our designers, collectors and anyone stopping in for the first time. It can’t be all personal taste (though let’s be honest, a little of me sneaks in every time).

Sourcing in France!
My own style is very layered, a little less polished and certainly not perfect. Eclectic, for sure. I’m endlessly inspired by San Miguel de Allende and its color or texture, but I always end up refining it through a French country palette. I love the muted tones, rustic finishes, and a casual luxury that feels lived-in rather than styled. I would not call myself fancy. I like things that age well and pieces that feel like they’ve seen a few things.

Take our bathroom, for example. When we first bought our house 17+ years ago, we turned an 18th-century brown lacquered Chinese cabinet into a sink. It became the heart of the space. So when it came time to update, we built around it. Warm brown tones, new stone-gray floors, woven accents on the tiny window, and textured floor mats. I searched for the right wallpaper for years (because, naturally, the shop always comes first). Then finally, I found it: a tribal grass cloth from Schumacher and it just clicked. The most lovely installer team walked into our store and then into my bathroom. I loved working with this mother-daughter team, they were so fun and diligent.

That’s the thing about personal style, it evolves quietly over time. Sourcing for Litt is about vision and instinct. My home, though? It’s about patience, imperfection, and finding beauty in the in-between.
