Super Chobi

The super Chobi style of rug is a type of handmade carpet that originated in the Chobi region of Pakistan. This style is known for its intricate patterns and vivid colors, which are achieved through a time-honored dyeing and weaving process. The patterns on super Chobi rugs often feature geometric shapes, floral designs, and abstract motifs. They are typically made with high-quality wool or silk, and the pile is often hand-knotted for added durability and a luxurious texture. Super Chobi rugs are highly sought after for their unique beauty and craftsmanship, and they are a popular choice for both traditional and contemporary interior design styles.

"Something I haven't mentioned:

Over the last few months, the number of UNdamaged deliveries I have received can be counted on a single hand.  Absolutely not kidding. The packaging, shipping, and handling industry is a complete disaster. Thankfully, this gorgeous antique side table from @littconcepthouse.com is one of those special few."

It's time to give your rug some love. When it needs a quick touch up, just grab a damp cloth (not dripping wet!) and some plain old H2O. No need for soap or fancy cleaners - they might harm your rug's color or fabric. When it's vacuuming time, make sure to use suction only - no brushes. If you've got a tough stain, it might be best to send it to a pro cleaner who knows how to handle fine rugs. And whatever you do, don't yank on any loose yarns! If they're bugging you, just snip them so they're even with the rest of the pile. Lastly, give your rug a spin every few months to keep the wear and fading even. Bonus tip: using a rug pad can help extend its lifespan

  • Quality: Vintage carpets are often made with higher quality materials and construction techniques, which can make them more durable and long-lasting. Lower quality carpets may not hold up as well over time and may need to be replaced more frequently.
  • Investment: Some people see vintage carpets as an investment, as they may appreciate in value over time.
  • Unique: Vintage carpets often have unique patterns, colors, and styles that cannot be found in mass-produced, modern carpets.
  • Cultural value: Vintage carpets may have cultural or historical significance, making them more valuable to certain collectors or individuals.

Handmade vintage rugs are made by skilled artisans using traditional techniques that have been passed down for generations. There are many different techniques used to create handmade rugs, including:

Knotting: This is the most common method of rug-making, and it involves knotting individual fibers or yarns onto a base fabric, typically using a hand-held tool called a "loom." The knots create the design and pattern of the rug.

Weaving: This method involves interlacing threads or yarns to create a flat textile. Handmade rugs can be woven on a loom using a variety of techniques, such as tapestry, soumak, and kilim.

Hooking: This method involves pulling loops of yarn or fabric through a base fabric using a latch hook tool. It is often used to create rugs with a shaggy or textured surface.

Knitting: This method involves creating a fabric by looping yarn through itself using knitting needles or a crochet hook. Handmade rugs can be created using this technique, although it is less common than the other methods.

Regardless of the technique used, handmade vintage rugs are created with a high level of skill and attention to detail, and they often take months or even years to complete.

All of our rugs are in-stock and are ready to go. Traditionally items leave within 14 days and transit time can vary based on location. Once we ship the item, you'll get an email with tracking so you can follow your new purchase.
